Enabled Energy Client Spotlight

At Bold Font, we frequently spotlight our clients and share their expertise – in talent and leadership – and, of course, we love to amplify their products and services.

Enabled Energy, Inc. is a Colorado-based energy services company dedicated to enhancing reliability, achieving measurable energy savings, and optimizing capacity for legacy data center operators. Since 2009, the company has successfully retrofitted thousands of data centers across the US and Canada.

Recently, we asked Katie Staib, a member of the Leadership team, for insights into the company’s success to date and how Bold Font has helped foster its growing market-leading position through leadership coaching.

Bold Font: As a starting point, please tell us more about the company's current size.

K.S.:  Enabled Energy currently has 37 team members, with at least 12 more in the coming year.  We are a growing company!

This year, three cohorts (12 people total) have completed the Leader as Coach program. We began with our Executive Leadership Team to ensure the program was a good fit for our team and culture. In addition, we wanted to be confident that we could model what we learned before expanding it to others.

As our team continues to grow, we plan to have additional members participate in the program.

Bold Font: Can you tell us more about how Bold Font's leadership coaching fits into Enable Energy's core values and mission?

K.S.: As EE grows, we aim to preserve the heart of our culture – mission-driven, collaborative, curious, and service-minded - while strengthening alignment, accountability, and empowerment. 

Our goal is to continue to build a culture of excellence where clarity empowers action and ownership drives results. Our framework requires excellence in People, Process, and Results.

Leadership and Coaching are our X-Factors; we like to think of them literally as “force multipliers.”

Bold Font: What Bold Font coaching takeaways do your employees and leaders tell you resonate the most with them?

K.S.: One big realization was that we thought we were leading—but in many ways, we were just managing. Now, the conversations around the office center on coaching through active listening, staying curious, and holding ourselves and others accountable.

I’ve seen a real shift in how we lead since starting the Leader as Coach program. This program gave us the tools and confidence to lead through coaching.

For me, the biggest impact has been watching our leaders lean into curiosity and listening. Conversations feel different now. They are more collaborative and more empowering. People aren’t just waiting for direction; they’re starting to take ownership and drive results.

Bold Font is becoming part of who we are as a leadership team. We’re excited to keep building on this foundation as we grow and to see how these principles continue to shape our future.
